I am an Early Childhood Educator and Special Needs Resource Consultant, a wonderer, and a child-at-heart. She finds joy exploring nature with children—sharing their sense of discovery and learning together from the resilience and beauty of the natural world.

As a Trauma Competent Care Trainer and Forest and Nature practitioner, I am passionate about creating welcoming spaces where children of all abilities can grow, explore, and thrive—no matter where they begin.

She loves turning big ideas into tiny adventures that make kids giggle, wonder, and think. Her stories are filled with friendly creatures, brave little heroes, and magical surprises waiting around every corner.

Amy Jo Smith is an Early Childhood Educator, Special Needs Resource Consultant, a wonderer, and a child-at-heart. She is happiest playing and exploring in nature with little people—sharing their wonder and joy of discovery, and learning together from the resilience and beauty of the natural world.

She is a Trauma Competent Care Trainer, Forest and Nature and TBRI® Practitioner, and is passionate about fostering communities that are accessible, welcoming spaces for children of all abilities to grow, explore and thrive, no matter where they start in life.

Take a Nature Walk

  • Bring a bucket or bag and see how many kinds of oak leaves and acorns you can collect
  • Find a sit spot under an oak tree and listen - what do the leaves sound like?
  • Bring some paper and do a bark rubbing - what does it feel like?
  • Draw in your Nature Journal

    • Different kinds of oak leaves
